To Abby From Uncle Jeremy
Dear Abby,
I have one important thing I have learned in my life that I want to pass on to you. It's taken me years to grasp this idea just a little bit, and it's something I work on every day. The best advice I can give you is to learn to only trust in God and His Word. I know you're young and the thoughts of tragedy and heartache seem so far from you, but we never know what God's plan is for our lives. There could come a day when you only have God to lean on and no one else. I can remember friends and family passing away since I was about your age. I can remember being angry and bitter towards people because they let me down in some way. I can remember being 6 years old at church in North Carolina and finding a out the son of a friend of our family who was just 4 years old was diagnosed with cancer.
Abby, this life is wonderful and it's full of beautiful things for us to enjoy. I don't want to you to take this advice in a discouraging way. I pray that you, your brother and sister, and your parents have a long full life with good health. I pray you continue to become an even more beautiful and smart lady than you already are.
I just want you to succeed where I have failed. I have made many mistakes in my life because I failed to trust God and the promises in his word, and I have let bad things discourage me and cause me sin.
Life is an amazing gift God has given us, but sad things will happen in our lives sometimes. Have faith in God and His Holy Word. He loves you more than your parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins COMBINED. He cares for you no matter what happens. I love you Abby, I hope you have a great birthday.
-Uncle Jeremy
